Geofences

Geofences are virtual boundaries drawn around specific locations — typically job sites or restricted areas — in Verizon Connect Reveal. When a tracked piece of equipment crosses a geofence boundary, an entry or exit event is generated.

Viewing geofences on the map

Geofence overlays can be toggled on and off via Settings (gear icon in navbar) → MapShow geofences.

When enabled, geofenced areas appear as shaded polygons on the Operations map. You can see at a glance which job sites have geofences defined and whether equipment is currently inside them.

Geofence events in the Live Feed

Entry and exit events appear in the Live Feed as they occur. Each event shows:

  • Which piece of equipment triggered the event
  • Whether it was an entry or exit
  • The name of the geofence
  • The timestamp

Geofence events are polled every 5 minutes.

Managing geofences

Geofence creation, editing, and deletion is handled in Verizon Connect Reveal — not in the Command Center. The dashboard displays existing geofences and their events but does not provide tools to modify them.

To add or change a geofence boundary, log into Verizon Connect Reveal directly.

Refresh rate

Geofence definitions (boundaries) refresh every hour. Geofence events (entry/exit) refresh every 5 minutes.
