Copy a link to the current job to drop into Slack, Teams, or an email. Recipients click the link and land on the same job — once they're signed in to the dashboard.

The button is small. The behavior is narrow. Read the next section before you assume what it does.

The button copies a bare link to the job — the job number and nothing else. Specifically:

https://dash.precisionsiteservices.com/#/jobs/5164

That URL is what ends up on your clipboard.

Copy Link copies the bare job URL — not your view

The link does not preserve:

  • The active tab — recipients land on the job's default tab, not the tab you were on (Analytics, Categories, POs, Field Data, or Budget)
  • Filter chips on the PO Detail tab — recipients see the unfiltered table
  • An expanded category card on the Categories tab
  • Any drill-down or widget state

If you need the recipient to see the same view you're looking at — for example, "I'm filtered to Concrete Pending POs and there are 12 weird ones" — share a PDF or take a screenshot instead.

This is the most common misunderstanding about Copy Link. It's a re-entry point to the same job, not a snapshot of your current state.

Where the button lives

Copy Link is in the action bar at the top of every Job Detail tab, between the Job Selector and the Export dropdown.

Reading left to right, the action bar contains:

  1. ← All Jobs — back to the All Jobs list
  2. Job Selector — switch to a different job
  3. 🔗 Copy Link — what this page is about
  4. Export ▾ — the dropdown for PDF, Email Report, and CSV

The button is the same on every tab. Whether you're on Analytics or Field Data when you click it, the URL it copies is the same.

What clicking it looks like

Click the button. The label changes from 🔗 Copy Link to ✓ Copied and turns green for about two seconds, then reverts. That's the confirmation that the URL is on your clipboard.

If your browser blocks clipboard access — rare in production, but it can happen on non-HTTPS or older browsers — the label changes to Copy failed instead. If you see that, refresh the page and try again. If it still fails, copy the URL out of your browser's address bar manually.

Two seconds is the label, not the clipboard

The button label reverts after about two seconds. The URL stays on your clipboard until you copy something else — paste whenever you're ready.

What the recipient sees

When someone clicks the link:

  • If they're already signed in to the dashboard, they land directly on the Job Detail page for that job, on the default tab, with no filters applied.
  • If they're not signed in, the link routes them through sign-in first. Once they're in, they land on the same job.

Recipients need to be signed in with an authorized Google Workspace account on one of the company domains. Anonymous link sharing doesn't work — anyone you send the link to needs dashboard access. See Signing in and Companies and access for what qualifies.

note

If your recipient gets a sign-in screen instead of the job, that's expected — they need to sign in with their work Google account, then they'll land on the job.

When you need to share more than the job

If you want the recipient to see the filters, the tab, or the drill-down you're looking at, Copy Link won't do it. The two workarounds:

  1. Send a PDF. The PDF reflects your current filters and includes the header, scorecards, and PO table. See PDF Export.
  2. Send a screenshot. Quick, no setup, captures exactly what you see.

For the most common case — "look at this job" — Copy Link is the right tool. For "look at this exact view of this job," reach for the PDF or a screenshot.

Copy Link is on Job Detail pages only.

There's no equivalent for All Jobs, Action Queue, or Analytics today. To share one of those views, take a screenshot — the page won't write a URL to your clipboard for you.
